| I guess many Spaniards who read this won’t even know that today it’s Thanksgiving Day. That’s fine because we don’t celebrate it here but I wanted to write something about thanksgiving anyway.
 Even
it’s a Christian tradition about giving thanks to God about all we have
I think this is a celebration anyone (believer or not) can understand.
Just
think for a moment about all you have, all your family, friends and
possessions and see how lucky you are, and now think about all the
people who are not as lucky as you… think about homeless people, people
in poor countries, people in countries in war, or maybe just people
around you… maybe they don’t have all the stuff we do, and even that
I’m sure they’re still thankful for the few things we haven’t taken
away from them yet.
So next time you hear about thanksgiving don’t think it’s just the “Eating turkey day” (even they eat turkey,
and it’s yummy… I’m hungry!) Think it’s the “wow, I have lots of
awesome things and others don’t, let’s help them!” day. I know the
second name is not as short or as easy to remember but reflects better
what that day should be.

| Ja fa uns quanta dies que roda la noticia pro volia comentar-la… “El Ministeri de Sanitat, a través de l'Agència Espanyola de Seguretat Alimentària (AESA), ha emès un comunicat on denuncia la darrera campanya publicitària de Burger King i en demana la interrupció immediata.”
 Resulta que la campanya publicitària de Burger King incita a menjar les seves hamburgueses... i també resulta que les hamburgueses de fast food engreixen. (Caram, quina sorpresa!!)
I sembla que el ministeri de sanitat
ens ha de protegir d’això perquè la gent és “tonta” i com que ho
anuncien a la tele, aniran en massa al Burger King, s’atiparan
d’hamburgueses XXL i la seva salut es veurà greument afectada.
Per
una part crec que és correcte que el ministeri de sanitat prengui
aquesta mesura ja que ho fa en base a un acord que va firmar amb les
cadenes de restauració en el que aquestes es comprometien a "no
incentivar el consum de racions o porcions individuals gegants"... si
han firmat un acord l’han de complir.
Pro per altra banda no
crec que aquest acord hagués d’existir. No crec que el ministeri de
sanitat hagi d’interferir en aquest temes... volem una societat liberal
o volem estar sobreprotegits pel govern?
Les cadenes de fast
food porten molts anys oferint-nos productes XXL, i si segueixen
augmentant la mida de les porcions és perquè la gent les compra. Jo no
soc un consumidor habitual de menjar ràpid, pro si que de molt en molt
em ve de gust menjar-me una "superhambuerguesa" amb tot inclòs, i per
això no em moriré, ni em tornaré obès de cop, i no m’agradaria no poder
fer-ho perquè un ministre ho hagi decidit així.
El que ha de fer
el ministeri de salut és promoure uns hàbits d’alimentació sans i
moderats entre la població, no pas prohibir-nos les llamineries com als
nens petits no?

| ¿Estás harto de ver tu lista de contactos del Messenger invadida por
corazoncitos? ¿Las poesías que se ponen por nick tus contactos te
producen picores? No estás solo… somos muchos los que sufrimos los
amores de nuestros amigos.
 Por eso he decidido impulsar la campaña “Basta de nicks cursis: ¡Quiérela en privado!”.
En
mi opinión el amor es algo muy bonito, pero también algo personal…
¿realmente crees que a tus contactos les apetece leer “Te quiero Carla”
cada vez que te conectas? ¿Es necesario acompañar tu nick con un TQM
seguido de 4 corazones, 2 besos y 5 flores? ¿Crees que el nick “mil
amaneceres a tu lado” sirve a tus contactos para identificarte?
Si
mientras estas leyendo estas líneas te das cuenta que eres una de esas
personas, por favor, piensa en tus otros 128 contactos del Messenger
que no son tu novia… ellos deberían alegrarse de vuestro amor y no sufrirlo, así que ¡haz el favor de cambiar tu nick!
Si por el contrario eres uno de los afectados
lo único que puedo aconsejarte es que intentes hacer entender
sutilmente a tu amigo/a lo que ya he escrito anteriormente… y ¡suerte!
Sé que somos muchos los afectados como mi amiga Marina,
inspiradora de este post (por sufridora no por cursi), debemos unirnos
y luchar contra éste fenómeno, ¡todos juntos podemos erradicarlo!

| I read on the Washington Post about the marriage between Katie Holmes (I just discovered she was born on December 18th like me… funny!) and Tom Cruise, and about Scientology.
 They
can choose between 5 different kinds of wedding, that go from the
“Traditional” to the “Double Ring” one... well the article talks about
Scientology weddings but the part that got my attention is this one:
In
the old-fashioned language that marks the Traditional version, the
groom is reminded that "girls" need "clothes and food and tender
happiness and frills, a pan, a comb, perhaps a cat" -- and is asked to
provide them all. The bride, in turn, is told that "young men are free and may forget" their promises.
Even
it’s a tradition or it’s “old-fashioned language” that’s WRONG, you
can’t say that, it’s sooo sexist! And I’m not talking about being
politically correct, I think it’s a moral thing, saying things like
those make me think about the medieval times!
Try dating a girl
for a while, and then giving her a pan as a gift. You’ll see what I’m
talking about, I think that anyone with a little bit of self-respect,
or respect for the opposite sex shouldn’t agree with a ceremony that
supports that kind of attitude.
Anyway, we all know that Tom Cruise is a weird guy,
but think about all those “thousands” of Scientology followers that the
article talks about… I just hope not many people choose the
"traditional" ceremony!

| Ara ja sé el que senten els escriptors quan agafen fòbia a la pàgina en
blanc… fa temps vaig llegir un llibre del Stephen King (Esteve Rei pels
amics) que es titulava Un sac d’ossos que entre altres coses explicava els problemes d’un escriptor que patia un bloqueig creatiu.
 L’escriptor
tenia un truc, en èpoques de molta productivitat havia guardat
novel•les per després poder-les publicar en peques de sequera creativa.
Bé doncs jo estic en sequera
creativa… i no he guardat cap tema d’emergència per anar publicant (com
altres bloggeros m’han comentat que fan) mentre em torno a inspirar.
Sempre
podria parlar de política (vivint a Catalunya tindria una font
inesgotable de temes) o podria explicar que és el que he fet avui des
de que m’he llevat (avui, de fet, poca cosa) pro no vull que el meu
blog es centri en la política ni crec que la meva vida sigui pas
interessant per al lector...
A mi m’agrada escriure sobre coses
que us interessin, que us cridin l’atenció o que us facin pensar...
així que ara és el vostre torn (ara és l’hora segadors!), sobre que us
agradaria que escrigués? Doneu-me idees, totes les aportacions son
benvingudes!!
Per cert, si ets un dels meus lectors anònims i
estàs llegint això amb la intenció de tancar la finestra en acabar el
paràgraf, t’informo que comentar no mata, ni provoca impotència ni
envelleix la pell com fumar... es més, alguns metges i tot han dit que
deixar comentaris als blogs et fa mes feliç i fins i tot pot
allargar-te la vida... mai se sap! No hi perds res per provar!
